Flow Yoga for Mums-to-be

Here at Urban Yoga we would like to offer Mums-to-be a yoga course they will never forget. Pregnancy is one of the most important times in a woman’s life and our Prenatal Flow Yoga course is for all pregnant ladies who are past their first trimester.

The class will be suitable for those who are new to yoga and challenging for those who are regular practitioners due to the options in the yoga poses which will be given by the instructor.

Participants will enjoy moving with ease and comfort in a tailored pregnancy class that will keep them fit whilst being sensitive to their babies and their ‘new’ bodies.

The course will aim to:

  • Help future Mothers take some time out of their busy days simply to connect with themselves and their baby
  • Enhance the Mother-to-be’s experience of being pregnant 
  • Provide health to Mother-to-be’s mind and body

Special attention will be paid to finding and strengthening the muscles required during pregnancy and birth and this in turn will improve postnatal recovery. Learning to breathe effectively for labour through the use of yogic breathing will also be practiced during each class.

This is an opportunity to connect with other women who are also going through this transitional time in life, preparing mentally and physically for a new addition to their families.

Emily Fox was previously a dancer, and started her yoga journey due to her love of movement. Emily has been instructing yogis since 2010 and in April 2017 whilst pregnant, she trained as a pre-natal yoga instructor with yogi, Joanne Smallwood and midwife, Corinna Stahlhofen. Due to a lifetime of attending dance class Emily’s yoga classes are very structured, clear and ‘flowing!’ Emily received her YA 200 hour yoga teaching certificate from Allie Hill, Toni Roberts and Sharon Smillie at Yogahaven.
